Business Art was founded by Sarah Dallas as a response to her experience of working in the art world which, she believes, often prefers to maintain an air of mystery.  Her aim is to make art of all types accessible to businesses by providing whatever advice and knowledge they need to move beyond mass produced prints and see art as an integral part of the interior design.

From time to time old and new paintings require a little TLC - we can advise on what treatment is needed and arrange for it to be carried out. We use only qualified conservators and restorers, and will provide a fully comprehensive quote in advance. Before and after photographs can also be arranged.

The frame is an important component in the work: it must be chosen to complement the interior as well as the work itself. We specify the frames and all our pictures are framed by a highly skilled team of framers who can cater for everything from modern contemporary framing to bespoke and hand finished.

We use a team of specialist art movers and installers, so you can rest assured that your artwork is in the best possible hands at all times. Part of our service is also advice on specialist insurance during storage or transit. We personally oversee all installation and Business Art regularly ships internationally.

We have extensive experience in establishing and maintaining catalogues for all sizes of business. For larger clients, this can be thousands of works over multiple sites. Catalogues can be paper based or a full web-based art management system. Associated services include management of photographic recording, and ongoing market and value monitoring related to the acquisition or disposal of works by specific artists.

Our contacts and knowledge ensure the process is straightforward: we will find you a selection of artists to choose from - in whatever medium - who could provide the kind of work you want for your commercial interior, and then manage the commissioning process for you within agreed budgets and timescales.

That depends on what you're looking for! A small series of prints can be chosen, sourced, framed and hung in a matter of days: a more bespoke piece of work takes longer depending on the complexity of the project.

As a consultancy we charge for the time we spend on a project, plus any additional costs such as insurance and delivery charges, and of course the cost of the artwork. We provide comprehensive quotes in advance so there are no surprises. We believe we provide value for money: our knowledge ensures we can quickly identify and source the art you need and manage everything through to installation and beyond.  It’s fast, efficient and professional.

Business Art is based in a studio and gallery space in the heart of Edinburgh.  We welcome our corporate clients and art collectors alike to come and view a wide range of work including paintings and sculpture by young and more established artists.  Although we are based in Edinburgh, we work UK wide, including London and have also completed some projects further a field including The Netherlands, Sweden and India.
