Edinburgh-based Business Art was runner-up in the Young Business of the Year Award 2009, in the prestigious annual Association of Scottish Businesswomen (ASB) awards.

The awards were made at the ASB annual dinner in Glasgow on Friday 18th September.

Business Art owner Sarah Dallas set up her business 18 months ago, providing a specialist art service to the corporate world – she works with companies to identify the art that would work best in their environment, agrees budget and brief, sources the artwork and installs it – then provides a comprehensive art management service.

Sarah’s business operates throughout the UK and internationally, with clients in the commercial property, financial and hotel & leisure sectors.  With both a career background in fine art and a life-long interest, she is determined to make art accessible and to remove the mystic that surrounds it.  She has also sought to support up-and-coming artists by giving them a higher profile in the business world.

Speaking after the award ceremony, Sarah commented:

“Starting and growing the business has been really exciting and a steep learning curve. I am thrilled about achieving success in this Award, which recognises the success of Business Art to date and the business development strategies I have used. Without doubt the marketing of Business Art – particularly its on-line presence - has played a significant part in that success.

“I am hugely grateful to the clients I have worked with to date and I’m looking forward to extending the reach of Business Art in the coming years.”
